On March 10, 2001, we decided to take a short trip into the mountains, partly to see whether we would find any damage from the recent earthquake. The day was sunny here in Seattle, but by the time we had driven north and east, clouds covered the skies, and mists and fog often shrouded the area.

Undaunted, we pressed on, not suspecting that by the end of the day, we would have experienced rain, snow, sleet, blocked roads and a hair-raising ride.

It was FUN !
