This was a special weekend for a number of reasons. It was our First Terragen Intercontinental Conference. Secondly, it was sunny and warm all weekend. And happily, a field trip to the awesome Mount St Helens was on the agenda.

On the morning of Saturday, July 15th, Tim and I welcomed Fraser Smith of the UK to Washington State in an inauspicious way, by getting lost within five minutes of picking him up at his hotel. Undaunted, we aimed ourselves south and headed for Mount St Helens, which was at the top of Fraser's "wish list".
