The
Maniacal Mystery Tour
is waiting to take you away,
waiting to take you away...
Roll
up - that's an invitation. Saturday, December 6. 2003 was
not a pretty forecast. But did we let that stop us? Heck no!
Off we went, on one of our rambles. We had no idea where we
were going when we left so we let the car steer us north.
After a brief stop to check on the whereabouts of last week's
Trumpeter Swans, we turned west towards the tiny town of La
Conner. Tim kindly stopped so I could snap these funny fellows
on the way.
How could you not smile at this guy?
Heckle and Jeckle, greeting customers.
La Conner has many small shops, like "Bunnies By The Bay"
This bunny was perched beside the front door.
Speaking
of perching - Tim spied a Bald Eagle as we were in the
process of getting totally lost

Eventually
we found ourselves in Annacortes
and Washington
Park - a delightful spot for lunch. That's Whidbey
Island you can see on the left and every so often we would
be deafened by the roar of a low-flying jet from Whidbey
Island Naval Air Station. |
