On a lovely Saturday in May, we explored the North Cascade Highway as far as Washington Pass. The highway is part of the Cascade Loop. Here is some information on the Cascade Loop and the North Cascade Highway. The pictures don't do it justice, I'm afraid. At this time of year, there are a trillion colors of green in the landscape, and the sunshine made them glow. The brilliant blue sky was a wonderful backdrop for the snow-capped, rocky peaks which lined the road. Unfortunately, the road to the lookout at Washington Pass is still closed - the view from there is unbelievable - but it was an awesome day anyway. Here are some pictures.
