On Sunday, July 9th, we left Seattle to revisit the Olympic Peninsula for five days. We'd been there last year, and knew that we would return as soon as we could. Click HERE or HERE to read about the Olympic Peninsula

Of course we headed for Forks, to the Forks Motel. Forks is a one-stoplight town of about 3,500 people, living in an area of about 3.5 square miles. It takes its name from the forks of the three nearby rivers: the Bogachiel, Calawah and Soleduck. and began in the late 1870's as an agricultural community. Commercial logging began ten years later and huge logging trucks still thunder down the main street.. In addition to providing the town's name, the rivers support spectacular runs of steelhead trout during the summer and winter. Forks is a great base for day trips to the Pacific ocean beaches, the Rain forests, the awesome mountains and rivers, and Cape Flattery at Neah Bay, the most northwestern point of the continental USA.

I've divided the trip into "Days" as there are rather a lot of images. Please click on the "Day" and follow the arrows to see the pictures.
