"SEAFAIR is the largest community festival in the Pacific Northwest, and was recently ranked one of the top ten festivals in the United States. For 50 years, SEAFAIR has been a vital and vibrant part of summertime in Seattle by showcasing the traditions, celebrations and diversity of the Puget Sound area." Greenwood is one of the many small communities which make up the city of Seattle. On the evening of July 26th, Greenwood celebrated Seafair with a parade. Now, this is NOT your Macy's or Rose Bowl type of parade. It is, however, a wonderful display of community cameraderie, and to me, it epitomizes the spirit of Seattle. On these pages, you will not find fancy floats, expensive costumes and glittering bands. You will see lovingly handmade displays, many groups of enthusiastic youngsters displaying their talents, and a few of the "important folks" in the community.
