About sixty or so miles north of Seattle, near Burlington, Washington is a small restaurant which follows the tradition of the famous roadside "diner". Its meals are well-prepared and relatively inexpensive, and the portions are HUGE. Breakfast is served all day, and there are also lunch and dinner menus. The Valley Cafe is almost always crowded, as folks travel there to enjoy the ambiance, and of course, the food. The walls are decorated with crafts, among them many funny clocks, and the wait staff is cheerful and friendly.

Here's a brief look at the Valley Cafe.

The unprepossessing appearance belies the delights within.

Let's go in and EAT !

The familiar menu is always welcome - one side is breakfast and the other, lunch and dinner.

Sometimes it takes a while to make up your mind.

Here's "Corned Beef Hash" with hash browns and eggs.

A chili omelet overflows the plate, with hash browns and bacon.

This is known as Spidey-Mike" - eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy.

Ashley is nearly always there to greet you.

And if you're lucky, you will spy Mount Baker on the way home. :-)
