What a nice day (finally!!). We decided to have a picnic at Mount St Helens, looking forward to seeing the mountain under "winter" conditions. It was truly a wonderful day, and the only disappointment was that the road to Johnston Ridge was closed. We had been looking forward to the spectacular view from the Observatory there.

We agreed that we thought Mount St Helens somehow looked larger and more majestic under her blanket of snow. Additionally, there was hardly any traffic, so we were able to dawdle along at our own pace. It was a good time of year to visit this National Monument.
