Several kites were aloft in the strong breeze.

I loved this old fashioned Box Kite.

We had to smile at this one.

Some were more colorful.

This one was beautifully delicate.

I watched them for quite a while.

Oh my goodness! Pussy willows are trying to bloom.

Shilshole Bay is watched over by Leif Erikson.
The first recorded European to set foot in North America,
he symbolizes Scandinavian-American immigration.

This statue was given to the Port of Seattle
during the World's Fair in 1962.

It stands in a small plaza surrounded by runic-like stones.
There are 850 immigrant names on the plaques,
with space for another 600.

The project is funded by the Leif Erikson International Foundation [link].
