The Wilson Hotel was built in 1890 using bricks from a local brickyard. I loved the brickwork on this side of the building.

There was colorful artwork on the walls of many buildings in the Old Town.

The murals are based on photographs of life in Anacortes over the last century.

Some are painted directly on walls, and others are wood cutouts.

'This collection of murals is known as The Anacortes Mural Project and is the brainchild of lifelong Anacortes artist and local history buff Bill Mitchell. Confined to a wheelchair, Mitchell has been painting the murals since 1984.' [link]

Here's our lunch view - the view from the Cap Sante Lookout in Anacortes.
And this is the view on the other side of the Lookout - the Cap Sante harbor.

On the way down from the lookout we did a double-take! What a house!.
Here's the other side of it, facing the water.

We finished our trip with a drive through Washington Park, which occupies a special place in our memories.

Perhaps Tim is smiling at the recollection. At this very spot we had our own AHA moment. Perhaps I should say UH-OH moment. We got out of the car and in the split second before our doors slammed shut (locked) we saw with horror both of our sets of car keys inside on our seats.

Long story short - we called AAA and waited 3/4 of an hour in a freezing wind for our savior to come and unlock the car. We took turns sheltering in a Port-a-toilet, teehee.

At least we had something nice to look at.

I climbed this tree last time. It must have been a long time ago.
