GOLDEN GARDENS & BALLARD
LOCKS

A White-crowned Sparrow(?) trilled away from
a treetop nearby.
On a log a young Red Winged Blackbird flapped
his wings.
Papa encouraged him quite loudly from not
far away.
Tim took this wonderful photo of the cheering
gallery.
'Ahhhh, this is the life.' says my favorite
beachcomber.
High above us at the Ballard Locks, a Double
Crested Cormorant dries its wings.
'Coming in for a landing!!!' A Great Blue
Heron screeched to a stop just below the breakwater.
A pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes paddled madly
towards the locks.
A few cormorants frolicked in the bubbly
foam generated by the cascading water.
I also took a picture of a rat which you
can see by mousing over the saying below if you like.
