The higher we went, the more spectacular became the views, even with the cloud cover which hid many of the peaks we knew were there. Evergreen Mountain is about 5,600 feet high, and we figured we'd be driving to roughly the 4,300 feet level.

And yes, I do admit my Vertigo kicked in a few times, especially on the parts of the narrow, logging road where there was no "buffer zone" between the edge of the road and the sheer drop-off.
