Suddenly a darker dragonfly landed near me - a female Twelve-spotted Skimmer. She looked as if she was glad to rest when uh-oh, she was discovered by the guys.

As soon as the males noticed the new arrival, they began to chase her all over the place. The female flew very low, close to the water but the males were relentless. The last I saw, they were headed to the far side of the pond.

There were a lot more nymph casings on the reeds and plants today..

The Blue Dashers seemed much less shy too.

A Cardinal Meadowhawk was very attached to this nymph casing - was it his?

Here's a new one for me. I think it's a Saffron-winged Meadowhawk.

They're SO beautiful.

A gorgeous Female Western Meadowhawk

Possibly a mature brown female Pacific Forktail

Another nymph - it seemed to be hatching.
