There were lots of lovely big trees to hug.

Uh-oh. What's happening to that lovely big, wide, smooth path?

Yikes - where's the ladder?

I'm holding the gap open for you, Tim.

Don't wait for me! Save yourself!

Help! There is No More Path!!!

I'd say we spent the last quarter of a mile slogging through horrible conditions. There was no path, just the odd trace of the place it used to be. A bazillion trees of all sizes had blown down. Many were too fat to climb over and barely high enough to wiggle under. Lower areas were thick with mud and ground water. Despite my constant muttering of 'easy enough for children and senior citizens - bah!', I was very proud of myself when I made it to the end. It was fun!!!

Here's one of Tim's lovely pictures of the lake (when we were still on the good part of the trail).

And last but not least, a little Skipper (I think).
I had a great time today. :)
