As we left
the Sculpture Garden, a load of tourists zoomed past us on one of
Seattle's
Ducks. |
|
Pier 69 is the
home of a hydrofoil, the Victoria
Clipper. It travels to Victoria, British Columbia in 2 1/2 hours.
|
|
The
Edgewater is one of Seattle's luxury hotels, sitting out over
the water. Tim tells me rumor has it that one used to be able to
fish out of the windows of the hotel. ;-) |
|
On top of the
Port Of Seattle pier is a beautiful area to view the surroundings. |
|
The large building
in the foreground is Anthony's
Pier 66, a sea-food restaurant with a beautiful panoramic view. |
|
Here I am taking in all the
sights and sounds (and getting hungry!)
|
|
Hungry, you said?
Well let's go to Tim's favorite Thai restaurant, Bell Thai,
where he often buys his lunch, as it's very close to his office. |
|
Oh Yum! Appetizers!
These are called Fresh Rolls: fried tofu stuffed with vegetables,
rolled up in a rice wrapper and served with tangy tamarind sauce.
They were fabulous. I ate tofu! |
|
On the left is Tim's Spicy
Orange Chicken: deep fried chicken, sauteed with onion and
orange skin and served with Jasmine rice. I had Pad Ginger:
pork, fresh ginger with garlic, black mushrooms, bell peppers
and carrots sauteed in black bean sauce and served with brown
rice. They tasted as good as they looked.

We washed our
lunch down with a pot of Jasmine tea. It really was a perfect
trip, and totally spur of the moment, which was even better. |
