On closer inspection, I laughed to see that I had been ooooohhhhing and ahhhhing over a fake! I wonder how many people are fooled by this, and I wonder if the homeowners sit there chuckling "Yup Martha - fooled another tourist!" :))
One of my favorite views of Mount Shuksan is this one, across Baker Lake. A smaller lake nearby was completely frozen but Baker Lake's waters glistened in the sun.
Mount Shuksan's craggy, jagged silhouette is easily recognized. I've probably mentioned that this is my favorite mountain.
Seen across a dam, Mount Baker stood tall and very white in the afternoon sunshine. The ski areas on this mountain have been open since November.
Here's the peak(s) of Mount Baker - much whiter than the last time we saw them.
The sun shone through little patches of mist on Baker Lake Road and produced some very nice rays.
I must admit I don't mind snow when I don't have to live with it five months a year. There were some very pretty scenes today, and the snow was so fresh and white. Plus I could drive away from it in fifteen minutes. :))
