Many of the tall trees had thick moss growing on their north sides.
   
     
   
     
Below them grew a variety of tiny wildflowers. These are Foamflowers.
  
     
   
     
Tim's still striding on, often leaving me behind in the dust.

We eat lunch at the trailhead. We only saw one couple and a dog the whole time we were here.
  
     
   
     
On the way home we drove past the site of the the deadliest single landslide event in United States history.

 
     
   
     
The 2014 Oso Mudslide is much closer to the road than I'd imagined. We do not stop.

     
   
     
It's hard to imagine that there was once a community under the mud.
We drive quietly home.
