A little
further along the road, Mout Baker overlooks Boulder Creek.
Boulders
indeed! The lovely blue water is glacial run-off.
This
was one of the first places in Washington that Tim showed
me. |
Here's
the view from Panorama Point. Usually all those tree stumps
are underwater. |
Mount
Challenger gleams in the distance. |
And
nearby, Mount Shuksan pops up again.
Here's
a nice spot for lunch. A bumblebee flew through the car windows! |
At
the Baker Lake Road Trailhead, a Mourning Cloak butterfly
visited us.
These butterflies have the longest life-span - 11 to 12 months. |
We
stopped to watch a few elks far away in a field. |
And
lastly, two young Cormorants were enjoying the sun on a log in the
Skagit River.
