By noon we're getting weary of waiting, and hungry! So we say good-bye to Artist Point for now.

An artist tells me he's painting from memory.

It's clear and sunny at our lunch spot. It's also very windy and cold so we retire to the car to eat.

We also watch Table Mountain being swallowed by the Cloud Monster.

We spend some time at Picture Lake on the way out. The colors are pretty here too.
We still can't see the top of Mount Shuksan.

Tim finds a small crop of Amanita Muscaria mushrooms under a tree near the lake.

I see a bedraggled Dragonfly huddled under a rocky outcrop.

Mount Shuksan is certainly under cover for a good part of the day.

Everyone stops to watch four young Blue Grouse cross the road around Picture Lake.

They chatter away at each other as they head into the bush.

And now, three signs that made us laugh.

What an odd combination.
Nettle Gouda is a Dutch cheese made with stinging nettles.

The sign says it all.

Anyone remember Clark Kent's girlfriend?

And so ended our annual trip to the end of the Mount Baker Highway.
