The
pointed roof on the silo has disappeared
but the rest still stands.
What
a pretty setting it was. The farm was
staffed by patients and produced enough to
help feed other hospitals in Washington.
Looking
for Tim again.
He
has stopped for a moment on the way to the
food-processing area.
These
buildings are in pretty rough shape.
They were used for the cutting, cleaning and
preparing of fruits and vegetables grown on
the farm. This was the main
building.
I
decided not to tempt fate by climbing inside
this one. The inside was very
run-down.
We
paid a visit to the Northern State Hospital
Cemetery on the way out. There was a
dedication saying 'In
respectful memory of the 1,487 Northern
State Hospital patients interred in these
grounds. May they now rest in peace
with dignity. 1913-1972.'
On
the way home we passed fields of daffodils -
blooming!
What
a great Sign of Spring!
Cherry
blossoms signaled Spring too.
Tundra
Swans graze on someone's lawn.
We thoroughly enjoyed our outing today.
