Now it's off on a side trip to a place known as The Pinnacles, "an area of hundreds of bizarre stone "trees" formed by hot gas bubbling up through lava-flow vents and cementing loose pumice into spires." If I look a little nervous, it's because I am. I'm sitting on a small wall high above the valley, but the view is awesome!
