We meandered along to the town of Othello and entered the Columbia National
Wildlife Reserve.
Almost immediately
we were greeted by hosts of blackbirds, the most stunning of which were
the beautiful Yellow-headed Blackbirds. There were many of them in the
reeds and cattails which bordered the small lakes beside the road, and
they sang along with their Red-winged cousins.
To hear the song of the Yellow-headed Blackbird, hold your mouse
down on the picture.
