We drove along a little dusty road, looking for two seemingly non-existent intersections.
Just when we were about to give up in disgust, there they were! Fields and fields of Sandhill Cranes.
We couldn't get very close, because they were skitterish and nervous.



This is likely the only breeding colony in the state of Washington.



The Sandhill Cranes generally winter in Mexico.
