Here's the first rest stop on our journey - the Selah Cliffs, near Yakima in Eastern Washington. The vista resembled a patchwork quilt and we could see the hazy shapes of Mount Rainier and Mount Adams peeking over the distant horizon. Nearby were rocky cliffs, a protected wildlife area home to a variety of birds, animals and plants.
