Last week we were able to drive as far as the parking lot you see on the right. In fact, our picnic table was just past the car you can see in the lot. The road to Artist Point twists and turns like this all the way up, and there are seldom any guard rails. Today we saw another odd sight in the parking lot - two Border Patrol guards and their vehicles. I think anyone who was going to try to sneak into the country via the mountains would have to be in excellent shape!
