The last time we were here, we gazed across Semiamoo Bay. We knew that was Canada, over there, but we weren't sure what town we could see. It looked really pretty.

One side of Semiamoo Bay is bordered by the Peace Arch Crossing. The white structure is the actual arch, and the one with the green roof is where the border guards are stationed. Eventually I decided to move to Seattle, and in 1999, that's where I encountered "Norm". Sad to say, he would not let me into the USA, so in a haze of tears and a cloud of weeping, I turned around and drove to the first town I could find, which turned out to be the town across the water in the first picture above. It was called White Rock and it became my home for a couple of months.

A closeup of my apartment building in White Rock. I have to say, of all the places to be marooned, I couldn't have picked a nicer spot. I spent much time walking the beach, gazing longingly at the far shores :))
