Laura Isabel Espeland

One of the things I remember about her is that she could listen to a song, and play it instantly on the piano. We kids had a few favorites, and we'd always beg her to play "Pedro The Fisherman". I was amazed to find this midi on the Web, and surprised to learn that its composer was from Wales. If you'd like to hear a bit of it, please click the arrow below.

Pedro The Fisherman was written by Harry Parr Davies (1914 - 1955). Born in Neath, South Wales, he was a prolific composer of musical works for Shows, Films, Revue and solo performers. His skills as an organist and piano accompanist were second to none. Tragically his life was cut short at the age of 41 years, but not before he had made his mark on the world of music.
