Leslie played a number of musical instruments - guitar, clarinet, saxophone, piano, violin and organ, to name just a few. He was completely self-taught.

At one point he had a band called Tiger Thomas and his All Stars.

A fond memory of my childhood is him playing Rhapsody In Blue upon the piano. Although he played by ear, he wrote music as well.
