We spent a very wet Saturday, May 21 in the Boulder River Wilderness.

Be prepared!  Goretex coat.  Hiking stick.  Umbrella in backpack.

Oh boy, it was green.  And wet!

And pretty - mustn't forget that.  There were a bazillion shades of green.

Sometimes we had to duck.

The trail began to narrow a bit.

Tiny Broad-leaved Starflowers grew along the edge of the trail.

We had to watch where we were going or down we'd go!

Lots of Bunchberries grew all over the place, including on tree trunks.

Sometimes we'd catch a glimpse of the Unnamed River roaring along down below.

By now the path was getting pretty gnarly in places.  The rain didn't help.

It's a wonder we managed to stay upright!

At last we found what's we'd been looking for - Feature Show Falls.

Although this river is not named Boulder River, perhaps it should be.

Twin cataracts crashed into the thundering river.

It really was quite spectacular.

Tim's happy - he's a huge fan of waterfalls.

Many of the leaves looked as if they were strewn with diamonds.

And despite a grumbly start, I'm happy too.  It was quite an adventure.

On the way home we saw our first Foxgloves of the year.

And lastly, we had a laugh at a some hitchhiking Cowbirds.

What a day, bouncing over huge potholes, getting soaked, slipping and sliding.
And oooooooh, all that green.  It was truly gorgeous.
