Once again under the threat of rain we headed North to Birch Bay State Park, near the Canadian border.  It was a blustery day.  We spent time on a trail through a marsh and on the shores of Birch Bay.

Here's our first look at Birch Bay

Off we went on a trail which wound through Terrell Marsh - so green!

Moss, fungi and tiny flowers grew along the pathway.

Tim's bushwhacking his way along.

Then we headed down for some beachcombing.

There were shells galore, with lots of little barnacles growing.

Blankets of seaweed covered the shells in the water.

The colors were so pretty.

The pebbles were lovely too.

The barnacles looked like a strange sort of lace.

Time for lunch beside Birch Bay.  We're hoping the rain will hold off. (It did.)

Later as we drove around the area a bit, we saw a deer in someone's garden.

Along the road near Semiamoo were gloriously-colored Blanket Flower Goblins.

Another deer watched us as we pulled over to watch him.

I think he was very proud of his new antlers.

And with that, we headed home.
