The road to Cascade Pass has been closed for repairs for over a year.  When Tim learned it was now open, Cascade Pass became the destination for our Saturday trip.  We hoped to see some mountains and some signs of Autumn.  We weren't disappointed.

Despite the fog and mist the forecast was fairly positive so we kept our fingers crossed.

Now and then the fog was displaced by low clouds and a  pretty blue sky.

The Cascade River Road is a narrow track leading to the Pass - 23 miles of bounce-bounce-bounce.

Here's a good sign - some leaves are starting to change color.

Several rushing creeks flow beneath bridges on the way.

Tim's happy to see them.  It means we're getting closer to the top.

The view through the windows is changing too, and brightening.

The slopes of some of the mountains are indeed wearing their beautiful Fall colors.

The skies clear for a few moments to highlight a waterfall and a mountain in the distance.

The clouds return quickly and show us only glimpses of what's behind them.

There's not much snow left on the mountains.  Soon they'll be sporting a fresh coat.

After we park and meander a bit, we walk back down the mountain a bit.
