WOODLAND PARK ZOO: November 16, 2010

I still walk through the Zoo weekly. It's in Winter mode now, which generally means fewer animals to view. Many who have 'In-And-Out' privileges during inclement weather, choose 'In'. I don't blame them. It's also the time of year for maintenance and construction, so some exhibits are closed altogether.

Still, it's quiet and restful, the silence broken only by the calls of the animals and birds and occasionally the nannies and their charges. Last week it was cold!

Most of the Humboldt Penguins were snuggled together in pairs.

One of the Lemurs claimed his place on the heated log.

A couple of Red Pandas ran around trying to keep warm.

They didn't even stop for snacks.

'Hey! Is this the heated one? No? Really? Oh pooh!'

The Snow Leopards were looking for a warm spot to sit too.

I think it's this one here! But it's only big enough for one. You snooze, you lose.
