Bob Heirman Wildlife Preserve
at Thomas' Eddy
The trail led across a huge, flat meadow
dotted with a couple of small lakes.
Then the trail branched and we found ourselves walking beside the Snohomish
River.
Parts of the trail were overgrown with these plants.
The stems were hollow and the plants grew tall.
A couple more fun-gi waited for me on a log.
I think this is Wild Mustard.
There were lots of places to rest along the way.
I took a side trip to one of the small lakes.
This is one end of Shadow Lake, a serene place to rest.
There were lots of beds of waterlilies in the lake.
On the way back I saw another Towhee!
It was a nice way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.
