And here's the reflection in the lake, amidst the rafts of melting ice.


     
   
     
Beautiful blue lupins lined the roadway.

 
     
   
     
Clumps of Indian Paintbrush made bright spots along the way.


     
   
     
Large areas were covered with delicate Avalanche Lilies.


     
   
     
A fragile Crimson Columbine waved in the breeze.
 

     
   
     
Tiny Yellow Wood Violets glowed in the sunshine.


     
   
     
Next to them were a couple of even tinier Blue Violets.
 
 
     
   
     
We decided to continue on, driving down Stevens Canyon.
 

     
   
     
That's the road we took, a narrow track along the side of the mountain.


     
   
     
Patches of Cliff Penstemon dotted the rocky slopes and grass verges. They really are as bright as they look here.
