Across from the bar was a Club area with a number of small areas for conversation or relaxation.

I thought it was lovely - a remarkable renovation.

On the main desk was a decoration of old collars while in the background were shelves full of old hats.

The wall was filled with photographs of club members. One of them, U.S. Representative Marion Zioncheck (age 35) leaped to his death from his 5th-floor office on August 8, 1936.

Next, Tim and I meandered down to Pioneer Square for a quick visit to the Fire Festival. We were too early to watch any Firemen Games, but we enjoyed very much the Antique Fire Engines..

I've only put three photos on, but there were lots, from the Last Resort Fire Department.

Because the competitions weren't to begin for another couple of hours, we kept going.

Next we had a quick peep into the old King Street Station. Over 100 years old, the station is 'served by Amtrak Cascades, Empire Builder, and Coast Starlight lines and by Sound Transit's Sounder commuter trains'. It was actually very busy when we were there, and difficult to take pictures because of the crowds.

Now we climb King Street, heading for the International District Summer Festival.
