We took advantage of a nice Saturday to visit a favorite Forest Service Road which was just re-opened after a closure of several years. A cloudy start turned into a very bright, warm and sunny day in the mountains.

We stopped to stretch our legs at the Big Four Picnic area near Barlow Pass.
 
 
   
 
Next we drove to the Sunrise Mine Trailhead, just for the view.

A lone water lily glows in one of the Monte Cristo Lakes, just off Mountain Loop Highway.
 
 
   
 
We lunched beside the rushing Sauk River.
 
 
   
 
After lunch we headed for the Forest Service Road and North Fork Sauk River Falls.
