I enjoyed finding many little mushrooms sprouting in the dark, damp places.
   
I always was a sucker for a fun-gi.
 

A for effort to this hillside, although it was not a patch on last year's display.

   

Even in the bright sunlight the colors seemed a bit muted.

  

Here and there were small pockets of mist.

 
Now we've moved on to the Foss River road. I've never been here before.

We wound our way up a track for eight miles, looking for Maloney Mountain Lookout.

   

Woo hoo - this looks very promising!

 
 

The road opened out to a breath-taking panorama.

There were mountains as far as we could see in both directions.
