I found myself a few feet away from a Loon (no comments from the cheap seats please).
   
     
   
     
The Loon was very busy looking for something.
 
     
   
     
Aha! Lunch! A Dungeness Crab.
   
     
   
     
The bird spent some time dipping it in the water...
  
     
   
     
and swishing it quite violently around.
 
     
   
     
Soon the bird was left with a mouthful of edible pieces which quickly vanished.

     
   
     
Meanwhile in the sky, a pair of comical Brown Pelicans did aerobatics.
   
     
   
     
A Dungeness Crab frees himself of the rope, ready for a dive back into the water.
 
 
     
   
     
I love watching the Harbor Seals. There were 5 or 6 today but none came very close to the dock.

     
   
     
I think this is a young one.
 
 
     
   
     
A crabber and his wife called me over to see what had turned up in their crab trap. It was a big, beautiful Sea Star. Perhaps it is a young Sunflower Sea Star
