Is this an Angry Bird or what?

Now we are at the Westport Lighthouse beach. Tim's at the lookout...

and I'm just below it, ready to find my way across the dunes.

And there it is - our beloved Pacific Ocean.

I love to hear the waves pounding on the sand.

As I walked along the beach, I was surprised to see that what I thought was sand was really lots of tiny shorebirds. They seemed to like walking in the ruts made by cars and trucks that drove along the beach.

Here's a closeup of one. I am not sure what it is - maybe a Least Sandpiper?

Tim takes a last look before we head off on the long drive to the Kingston ferry and home.

A pair of Bald Eagles escort us out of Westport.

From the ferry, we see the Harvest Moon rise over Seattle.

And to the West, a lovely sunset behind the Olympic Mountains. What a day!
