Next, a long-awaited (by Ang) stop at the famous Bunny Hollow. The rabbits are the mascots of Clark's Cabins, along with the deer that frequently feed nearby. Tootsie Clark and her late husband, Rudy, went to Friday Harbor years ago to help relieve San Juan Island of its over-population of bunnies and they formed their own refuge at Clark's Cabins.

As we retrace our route, we take a detour up Burpee Hill Road. I've often heard of this road being closed for school buses during snowstorms, and we can see why. It twists and turns as it ascends, and from time to time, we are surprised by glorious vistas such as this...
