One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens of Burlington.  These too have changed incredibly since I went there as a kid - what a wonderful place it is. I loved the trails and look forward to another visit someday.

The reflections on the Koi pond were pretty.

There were many beautiful areas to explore.

Morgan and Sydney loved this play area for kids only.

Down the slide they came.

Sydney has a rest on a big wooden chair.

Here and there were beds of bright flowers and butterflies.

I loved the ponds with the Water Lilies.

We saw a lot of Monarch butterflies.

The male Cardinals were a very brilliant red.

A little further along the trail Dave feeds a Chickadee from his hand.

Alison manages to entice a Downy Woodpecker to eat from her hand.

And off we go to find the way home.
I love this picture.

A single Red Dragonfly sits on one of the bridges.

A Common Tern makes a right turn!

And an Osprey glides overhead.

A Green Heron tries to find a good hiding place.
And too soon it was time to go home

After a week in Burlington it was time to take a short flight South to Massachusetts. However, the day involved cancelled and rescheduled flights, a missing suitcase at the end (mine) and a run-in with a very rude security man.  Ugh!  Luckily the suitcase was found and arrived the following day.

I am sorry to say I took very few pictures of this week.

We spent a morning in Tim's sister's beautiful sunroom overlooking all kinds of feeders.I loved it there.  Here are just a few pictures I took.

Two Chipmunks raced to gather peanuts and stash them for Winter.

A Nuthatch took turns trying to get a peanut too.

So did a Blue Jay.  It was hard work, scaring off those Chipmunks.

A Cardinal mostly watched from a nearby tree.

Two other highlights of the week were Tim's Mom's 90th birthday party and the next day, a family reunion of her side of the family.

Here I am reading a poem to Lady Jane (on the left).
I'm glad my suitcase turned up in time as the poem was in it!

A good time was had by all.
It's not easy to keep up with the Birthday Girl but we try.

And before we knew it, it was time to head back to Seattle.
Thanks, everyone!  We had a great time.
