On Saturday, July 26, 2003 we headed to the Northern Cascades to visit a couple of mountain passes. The first was Washington Pass. It offers a short trail out to the precipice of a large rock and the views from there are outstanding! Liberty Bell Mountain is one which immediately attracts attention.

After lunch we continued to Harts Pass which was a new one for us. We'd heard about the fantastic panorama which awaited at the top of Slate Peak. Except for one stretch of the drive up, it was truly a wonderful experience as the road wandered through a glorious Alpine meadow, covered with wildflowers. The view from the top was amazing. Here are some pictures.
