Next morning, after breakfast and a quick walk on the Motel's beach we headed for the Westport Lighthouse area. 'Among the earliest structures built at Westport, the Westport Lighthouse, dedicated on April 14, 1898, still stands as a majestic beacon for weary mariners anxious to return home from the sea.'

Wow, the waves are even bigger than yesterday, and much noisier.

Crashing, thundering waves smashed onto the beach.

The ocean looked as if someone had dumped bubble bath into it.

Blobs of foam even turned up in the grasses along the edges of the dunes.

Next we headed towards Westport Marina, to check out the docks for seals.

Here's the wild surf smashing over the breakwater. The river in the foreground is the road!!!

In the background is the city of Ocean Shores, across Grays Harbor. The waves rocked our jetty.

Ohh-la-la. I was thrilled to see the Brown Pelicans were around already.

I love watching them glide and swoop.

Folks were crabbing from the dock. Here's one little guy's catch - a Dungeness Crab, big enough to keep.
