Yesterday Tim noticed several cats along the jetty, along with bowls of food and a a small shelter. Today we saw a gentleman feeding other cats near the lookout so we stopped and chatted for a while. He told us he was helping ( Hava-heart  ) and related stories of some of the cats. It was a sobering moment for us, and a reminder of human cruelty.

Here's one of Tim's infrared pictures of another of the Hava-Heart cats.

Here I am back on the observation deck for a last look before we head back to Seattle.

Oh boy, how great is this? Pelicans flying directly over my head.

I love these big and slightly ungainly birds. Perhaps I relate to them.

Shortly afterwards I spotted a seal gliding through the water towards a fisherman's line.

He looks pretty innocent, doesn't he? 'Who, me?'

A few brave surfers were trying their luck today.

This guy had a cheering section on the beach who went wild when he stood up.

And now it's time to bid adieu to Westport and the Chateau. What a great weekend it was.

Lastly, a link to Tim's beautiful infrared pictures is ( here ).
