| As I walked along the floating
dock, I was quite startled to see a seal lurch out of the water,
looking for crabber's bait. They often use chickens, which make
a good meal for the seals. |
|

|
Yikes this mossy pier
was slippery! I nearly fell several times.
|
|
|
Tim loved the observation
deck near the docks.
|
|
|
|
Later in the afternoon we saw this
astonishing sight - hundreds of shorebirds wheeling and diving in sync.
|
|
|
|
Eventually they all landed on a
nearby dock. I think they were mostly Marbled Godwits with a Willet
or two.
|
|
|
Within seconds they
tucked their heads under their wings and went to sleep.
|
|
|
A stately llama watched
us drive past.
|
|
|
The bay was surprisingly
calm in this area.
|
|
|
After dinner we caught
a sunset on the way home.
|
|
|
Time to head back
to the Mothership aka the Chateau.
|
|
|
| Now it is our last
morning here so of course we headed to the shore for a last look. |
