And here it
is - the perfect lunch spot at the July Creek picnic area on the
shore of Lake Quinault.
The beauty of
Lake Quinault was briefly spoiled by the ear-splitting sound of
a bunch of jet skis but luckily it didn't last too long.
On the way back to Forks we
stopped again at the Pacific Beaches. This one is known as Beach
Two - a lovely sandy expanse.
Beach Four is
absolutely gorgeous, with its rock formations, sea stacks, driftwood
and crashing waves. There was quite a climb down to this lovely
beach.
I enjoyed walking along the
beach looking for shells.
The sound of
the crashing waves was so nice.

Day
3: Neah Bay and Cape Flattery |
On Monday we headed
north and west again. As we drove along beside the Strait of Juan
de Fuca I was so excited to spot an eagle on a post near the shore.
He was not terribly happy to see me and my camera and took off as
soon as I got out of the car.
A little further
along, at the aptly named Shipwreck Point I spotted another Bald
Eagle.
Still further
along near Neah Bay were a pair of seastacks, complete with gull
colonies.
In the background
of this picture is the shoreline of Canada, across the Strait.
