We hiked along
two trails in the Hoh Rainforest. The first was called the Hall
of Mosses and it was easy to see why.
This colorful
fungus is known as Chicken Of The Woods. It glowed in the darkness
of the forest.
Tim took this picture of the
moss which draped most of the trees.
Here and there
were fallen trees. This Sitka Spruce was well over 100 feet long.
Next we walked along the Spruce
Trail which meandered along the Hoh River for a while.
Tim spotted
an elk dining on Alder bark on a rocky island in the river.
On the other
side of the river an Osprey hovered quietly, hunting for his lunch.
Parts of the
trail led into small tunnels covered with leaves and branches.
We finished
our hike and stopped for lunch on the way out of the Rainforest.
After lunch we
drove to my favorite beach ever - Ruby Beach. Here's the view from
the top of the hill as I'm ready to scramble down the steep path.
